Britton Play Therapy & Counselling’s philosophy is to provide support to children and their families when early signs of challenges arise, helping to prevent social, psychological & emotional issues later in life. A good experience in therapy at an early age, will set your child up for a brighter future within your family, and the wider community.
Based on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Britton Play Therapy & Counselling offers Play Therapy support for children aged 3 to 12 years , and counselling to adults who are experiencing emotional difficulties.

A Person-Centred approach to counselling is provided, to enable healing on a deeper level. Clients can begin to explore and express their fears, anxiety, guilt, shame, anger, and other emotions through a gentle, non-judgemental safe environment. With children I use a Synergetic Play Therapy framework, and techniques within my practice with children and their families. Play Therapy is a developmentally appropriate form of communication for children. There are generally two types of Play Therapy - Child Centred (or non-directive) and Directive Play Therapy, both of which can include sand & art therapy.
Since 2010, Kati has previously worked at South Pacific Private hospital on the Northern Beaches as a counsellor for adults dealing with addictions and mental health conditions. Whilst seeing the trauma being presented by adults at the hospital, Kati decided she needed to start working with children to break this cycle of harm. Kati says, I have since dedicated my time working as a Counsellor and Play Therapist in private practice 'Youth Psychology,' and ‘The Be Centre' before setting up 'Britton Play Therapy & Counselling' where I have seen many children and their families on a weekly basis. Kati is an intercountry adoptive mother, who also specialises in trauma and attachment issues with adopted children.
