Philosophy & Vision
Many of us experience trying times in our lives when challenges and difficulties may be greater than usual, or our ways of dealing with them don't seem to work well anymore. These are times when managing alone may not be the best way forward and reaching out for a safe space in which to regain balance and away from extremes of chaos or rigidity is a sound investment. Counselling and psychotherapy aims to relieve psychological distress and promote well-being.
Background
I am a registered counsellor / psychotherapist /mental health practitioner and over the last 17 years have worked in a variety of settings (Hospice, Grief Support Inc., NGOs and Community Mental Health Centre) as well as private practice.
Services
My approach is integrative and interdisciplinary and draws from mindfulness based approaches and The Conversational Model which appreciate the complexity of human experience and offers a confidential space and process that supports new ways of engaging in relationship with oneself and others and living creatively in the world.
I am trained in MBSR/MBCT. Participation in either a group or individual programme may be an alternative to counselling. See my website for more details.
Quality Provision
I maintain regular ongoing supervision, professional and personal development.
