I am drawn to the notion that healing comes from within and I see my professional responsibility as supporting an individual in this process in a safe therapeutic environment. I see life as a journey during which a person has an opportunity to work through issues, a process that could lead to them being more fully themselves.
Music psychotherapy (Guided Imagery and Music (GIM))

I work best with those who have a a strong commitment to the therapeutic process. I especially work with individuals whose creativity is blocked. When music is used it can lead to accessing the inner landscape and facilitate contact with hitherto neglected areas of the psyche. The intention is to be fully engaged with the music so that the inner exploration will, over time, have long lasting beneficial effects. I often use expressive modalities such as drawing, clay work and sand play to facilitate processing.
I am guided by the words of the Dalai Lama - 'you are responsible for your own salvation'.

Since 2000, I have had a private therapy practice, with an emphasis on individual/relationships counselling and music psychotherapy....
