Philosophy & Vision

I offer counselling that is strengths-based, creative and trauma-informed.
I believe that every person has existing strengths, resilience and capacity for growth, even during life's most difficult challenges.

My role is to provide a safe, supportive space where we can explore your experiences, build on your strengths, and work towards meaningful change.

Trauma-informed care is at the heart of my practice. I understand that feeling safe and understood is essential to the counselling process. Together, we work at a pace that feels comfortable for you, fostering safety, choice, collaboration and empowerment throughout our work. I aim to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel heard, respected and supported as you develop greater self-understanding and confidence.

Background

I have more than 20 years of experience supporting people through a wide range of personal challenges, both in private practice and within community and government-funded services.
Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals affected by trauma, domestic and family violence, sexual assault, crime, disability, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, anxiety, stress and life transitions. My experience includes working with:
• Lifeline Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Helpline
• Carers NSW
• NSW Rape Crisis Centre
• The Fragile X Association Australia
• Weave Women's and Children's Centre
• Blue Knot Foundation
• Knowmore Legal Service
• CatholicCare
• Victims Services NSW
• Victims Support ACT
My professional knowledge has been further strengthened through delivering training in trauma-informed care and practice for Blue Knot Foundation, as well as teaching counselling and related subjects at the Australian College of Applied Psychology (ACAP).
I also offer Supervision to practitioners.
