Philosophy & Vision
I am a clinical psychologist who offers a supportive psychotherapeutic approach. I believe that therapy offers an opportunity to understand one's own internal world, in turn enhancing relationships and day-to-day functioning.

Background
I am a doctor of clinical psychology and have worked as a psychologist for 10 years. My experience has varied, with my work as a research fellow at Deakin University focused on perinatal mental health and child development. In private practice, I offer individual therapy to young adults and adults across a range of difficulties and stressors, such as life changes, grief, relationship issues, trauma, anxiety, and depression.
In addition, I welcome referrals for the purpose of self-exploration and development. My belief is that wanting therapy is the only requirement to seeking therapy.

Therapy Approach
My exposure to a number of different therapeutic modalities has led me to develop my current psychodynamic approach. I offer talk therapy, and work with clients to get to the heart of their dilemmas. This might involve bringing to light current or past hurts, to work through their emotional impact.
A strong emphasis is placed on providing clients a safe space to express and process vulnerable feelings. A stressor or symptom is usually the starting point, with much to discover underneath. This can be explored in a number of ways, either across the shorter- or longer-term. Working to understand one’s self, with the help of another, can offer relief and a way forwards.
