I've Been Told That I'm Passive-aggressive...

Question: I've been told that I'm passive-aggressive... could someone please explain what this means? I think it's something to do with anger but that's all I know.

Answer: Passive-aggressive is a term used to describe a certain way in which hostility is expressed and yet at the same time, disguised as something else. Eg: a shot at someone or something, presented as, "just a joke". In the form of ambiguous comments, damning someone with faint praise, mild sarcasm and irony, doing, or "forgetting" to do certain things, accidently on purpose. The aim is to express the hostility but in a covert way, usually for fear of repercussions if it were expressed directly and honestly.
