    Therapy Approach

EMDR is a form of psychotherapy that aims to uncouple traumatic experiences from the emotions attached to them. The client focusses on a traumatic memory whilst watching the therapists fingers move backwards and forwards to replicate the same mechanism as REM sleep. This is how the disturbing memory is processed until it no longer bothers the person. It is widely used by the military and is recommended by the World Health Organisation. It can also be used to reduce cravings.

I believe in an individual therapy for an individual client, if EMDR is not for you then I have many other approaches I can offer to help you achieve your goals.
