Philosophy & Vision
I’m a relationship-focused therapist supporting individuals and couples to navigate midlife challenges and reconnect with themselves and others. Many of my clients feel stuck, overwhelmed or disconnected, often facing betrayal, separation, parenting stress or life transitions. I offer a warm, down-to-earth space to explore what’s happened, what’s shaped you, and what might now be possible.
My style is honest, compassionate and practical. I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method and Relational Life Therapy, alongside a strong psychodynamic lens for deeper, long-term work. Clients often tell me they feel seen, supported and challenged in helpful ways. If you’re ready to shift painful patterns and build stronger relationships with yourself or those around you, reach out so we can work together.
Background
Before starting my private practice, I worked as a counsellor at a group psychology clinic and as a referral support worker in adult education, providing practical and emotional support to newly arrived communities. I’ve also produced digital storytelling projects in aged-care, helping older adults reflect on their lives. These roles deepened my interest in relationships, transitions and identity across the lifespan. Since launching my own practice, I’ve focused on working with adults and couples, especially those navigating life shifts, disconnection, betrayal, or a loss of purpose. I bring warmth, life experience and evidence-based training to this work, and value long-term therapeutic relationships that allow for real, sustained change.

Therapy Approach
My approach is down-to-earth, relational and collaborative. I don’t focus on what’s “wrong” with you — I’m more interested in what’s happened, how it’s shaped you, and what’s possible from here. I integrate evidence-based methods including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method and Relational Life Therapy (RLT), alongside psychodynamic thinking for clients wanting to go deeper. I work actively in sessions, offering reflection, gentle challenge and insight. Whether you’re seeking practical tools, greater self-understanding or more fulfilling relationships, I aim to create a space where you feel safe enough to be real, reflect honestly and try something new.

I came to counselling after years of community work, where I was moved by how people respond when they feel heard and validated. I witnessed how challenge can become a catalyst for growth. Over time, I expanded into couples work as I’ve always been curious about what helps us stay connected to ourselves and each other. This work continues to feel deeply meaningful.

I’m guided by the belief that healing happens in safe, honest relationships. I draw from approaches like Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Relational Life Therapy (Terry Real), which help people understand patterns and build stronger connections. I’m also influenced by ideas that look at how our past and the world around us shape how we relate to ourselves and others. These approaches help me support clients with warmth, clarity, and respect.

Since my long-term hairdresser moved overseas, bad hair days seemed inevitable. I tried a few new places, and suffered a few terrible cuts and colours, until I found someone who really got me. I related how similar this was to finding a therapist that fits. You want someone who understands you and is willing to listen to your needs before "getting to work"

It has to be a song as music is definitely my healer. These songs are always on repeat when I need a lift: Groove Is in the Heart by Deee-Lite, Emotional Rescue by the Rolling Stones, and Dance Hall Days by Wang Chung. I guess you can tell my era!
