Philosophy & Vision

Much of our suffering happens in isolation. Being in a therapeutic relationship offers the possibility to be seen in our richness and our vulnerability, to take the time we need to shift the layers that obstruct our experience of who we are and how we are. With a commitment to grow our curiosity in psychotherapy, we enable our insight and wisdom to emerge, impacting our daily existence and relationships. An investment in the remembering of our soul and the rejuvenation of our spirit.

Background

Suzy has held a passion and curiosity for exploring the human condition, both spiritually and psychologically her whole life. She has lived through life challenges and initiations and lives with a level of resilience, resource and humility as a result. She finds her spirit soothed by immersion in nature and has taken much guidance from Buddist philosophy over the past 25 years. She is a trained leaderhip facilitator through the Rites of Passage Institute and a WomanSpeak leadership and public speaking coach.

  • To step into therapy is to make a commitment to one's self. There is no quick fix when making integrated and lasting changes in our lives. I work sensitively with each individual client, finding a pace and process that stays closest to my client's emerging needs and insights. Through dialogue, experimentation, listening, observation and body awarness, I work at building safety with my clients to have conversations with themselves that alone they may not ever have had. Being witnessed, heard and acknowledged can have a profound impact on our sense of self and our ability to heal.

    Therapy Approach

Suzy works with her clients with deep care and understanding of the darkness and painful challenge life can engulf one in, and brings a reminder of the surrender and support that is available to find more peace in the present, even in situations that may not be ideal. Trauma-informed, creative, dialogical and deeply relational Suzy leans heavily on Gestalt methodology as a means to walk beside her clients to greater insight and spaciousness.
