Philosophy & Vision
I like to work in an egalitarian way with clients, using mutual input and insight, empowering individuals to take charge of their lives and begin to live them in ways they would find happier and more fulfilling.
Background
I have been a Counselling Psychologist for 28 years, in school and university settings and in private practice. I have a great deal of experience working with individuals, adolescents, and couples in counselling, and on a wide range of presenting issues. I also have many years of experience in group program development and facilitation.
Services
Individual Counselling
Adolescent Counselling
Relationship Counselling
Quality Provision
I participate in regular professional development. My membership of the College of Counselling Psychologists requires 60 points of professional development training to be accumulated every 2 years. I have an individual supervisor and I also belong to a small peer supervision group which meets regularly. I encourage clients to bring to me any concerns or issues they might have about the process of counselling so that we can negotiate together a mutually satisfactory therapy plan.

Therapy Approach
I adopt a multimodal approach to counselling and believe it is important to help clients work on their problems from a variety of perspectives: emotional, physical, behavioural, and cognitive. This holistic approach enables clients to experience immediate short-term benefits from the counselling process while at the same time it also promotes more long-term change.
