I offer you an outside perspective as sometimes family / friend support is not what we need at this particular time. Drawing on the skills and counselling techniques I have learned, I can support you through challenging times and help you become stronger and more aware, guiding you towards successfully managing your life.
Emotional and psychological trauma is the result of an extraordinarily stressful event. Trauma damages the psyche and produces overwhelming stress to the point where your ability to cope with the intense emotions leaves you confused and upset. Your sense of security may be shattered, making you feel helpless in a perceived dangerous world. Trauma therapy can help you climb out of the void and heal, enabling you to live a fulfilled and content life.
Anger, pain and depression are often experienced together which is stress-inducing to say the least. It is the psychic pain of depression that feeds anger but anger can also fuel depression. I also specialise in anger management and relationship counselling.
CBT, Existential, Narrative Therapy, Person Centred
I want to help others come to terms with their pain and trauma. I bring with me compassion, empathy, understanding and most importantly, a listening ear. Taking the first step and reaching out is not always easy, it will require courage and commitment, but together we can explore and work through the issues that are holding you back in your life.
We are living in uncertain and unprecedented times that are stress-inducing, not to mention confusing and upsetting. It is understandable that you may feel like you need extra support during this time of isolation. Maybe you can’t see your family or friends; maybe you are worried about the world and feeling lonely or anxious? I offer online sessions via video (Zoom or Skype) or phone support through FaceTime. There is flexibility around session times with in person sessions still available.
I am a trained psychotherapist and trauma counsellor with a Masters Degree in Counselling and Applied Psychotherapy from the reputable Jansen Newman Institute (JNI). As well as attaining my degree in a philanthropic field that I am passionate about (that of offering professional support and help to others), my studies have enabled me to form an in-depth understanding of myself and my life experiences thus far.
Some of these experiences revolve around my own personal history and repression with trauma and loss. Through establishing a trusting and empathetic bond with the right counsellor in a safe environment, I was able to face and work through painful memories and feelings. I was able to heal and grow in time.
Presently I should be able to offer a session within a week with seeing people mainly in the afternoons or evenings.
I am located within working distance of Town Hall, Museum and St James stations. The building is opposite Hyde park near the Sheraton on the Park. As well as the entrance on Elizabeth St you can also enter at 160 Castlereagh Street.
Individual sessions for 50 mins are $130 with the sessions occurring on a weekly basis. If you prefer to pay upfront 6 sessions is $690 (a saving of $15 per session) or 10 sessions is $1,100 (a saving of $20 per session).
You can pay with Visa, Mastercard or Amex. You can also do bank transfer or pay in cash in person. With online sessions an invoice will be emailed and this can be paid with a debit or credit card.
I supply counselling in Sydney that is personal and empathetic, confidential and professional. Seeing a counsellor can be a confronting thing to do but once you’ve found a good therapist – someone you feel comfortable with – therapy can be an effective and satisfying treatment for emotional and mental problems....
