Philosophy & Vision

If you are going through a difficult time and feel you have exhausted friends and family around you, maybe it's time to speak to a Professional Counsellor, someone who can remain detached and help look at the options.

Feeling heard and given the opportunity to talk freely and openly about what is causing your anxiety or stress, will help ease the pressure and lessen the load. And allow you to think clearly.

I offer a confidential service via Telehealth. Helping you find the strategies that allow you to cope with whatever is going on for you. If you don't make a change, then everything stays the same!

Background

I have been Counselling since 2005, which is when I qualified as a Professional Counsellor (Prof.Couns.Dip) I have completed the Lifeline Telephone Counselling course and continue with Ongoing Personal Development, which includes workshops, conferences and continuous learning.
My experience with marriage and relationship counseling is extensive and assisting in separation and divorce, helping to make the process as smooth as possible and working with children if required.
I have helped many people with Grief and Loss, it is never easy, but sometimes it is important just to talk.
My experience with stress and anxiety is on-going, this is a part of everyday life and finding a way to manage it with strategies and techniques can help.

    A conversation with Sharon Bonello

    • I chose to be a Counsellor when I reached 40 years old and felt like I had a good amount of life experience to offer support to people and ensure confidence with my exposure to all kinds of life situations.
    • My approach to life is generally to realize that when we are in a difficult phase of our lives, it will pass.....
That it is about working tirelessly to find the best outcome and moving on with life.
A life without experience is a life not lived!
    • I am interested in all aspects of life! But the journey we go on mentally is the one that can dictate how we are physically too.
    • Solution focused therapy is always very helpful for people who find themselves in an immediate situation that needs to be worked on.
Cognitive Therapy is helpful for people who find themselves wanting to change their thoughts and eventually their behaviour.
There are many other methods of assisting people going through difficult times.
    • A client usually feels some relief after sharing their story with me, it allows them to feel lighter and know that someone else is on that journey with them. Saying things out loud is very powerful and can be the first step to making changes.
    • Therapy makes me a better person because I have more empathy and understanding of emotion and recognize that we are all quite vulnerable to change.
It has allowed me to work through my stuff and to remember that nothing stays the same......
    • The thing I like best about being a therapist is seeing my client leave my room, looking less fatigued and worried than when they arrived.
    • We all have 'bad hair ' days, don't we?
    • The problems we have in the world today are sometimes the same as the ones we have always had, but there is more exposure and openness to them.
Clearly the world of Internet has bought some challenges too.
Moving on from trauma will always be a challenge, no matter what that looks like.
    • There are many books, films, songs and art works that inspire me. It is impossible for me to select just one...
The things that inspire me are anything that someone has taken the time to create.
However, I am grateful to all the people that create the above things that do inspire us and help us on our journey of life.
