Philosophy & Vision
As a therapist, I aim to engage with the deeper levels of knowing in a person that are already present, but not yet in awareness. This is achieved by exploring cues present in the body or imagination that, when ready, are brought forward into consciousness. In this way, it is a way of drawing on inherent, unutilised wisdom the person already holds.
The philosophy behind my approach is simply a belief that awareness enables a person to heal. By becoming more aware of what exists within us, we naturally arrive at our own personal solutions. Becoming more aware of ourselves cultivates a deeper sense of meaning and purpose, helping us to become more personally resilient.
This approach is for people who are serious about creating the changes they need in their lives. This is not for temporary relief of a particular symptom but long-term resilience and the capacity to make difficult decisions in the present and the future.
Services
This work can be difficult at times, but ultimately one of the most worthwhile endeavours in a person's life, giving a sense of meaning and purpose. It is with this meaning and purpose people are better able to engage with the fullness of their lives. Both in the capacity to work through difficulties, and in connecting to what really matters to them.

I was drawn to psychotherapy as I have an interest and care for people's inner worlds. I have benefited from others having held my experience of being an individual person with support and understanding. This enabled me to come into better understanding of myself and be able to accept more of myself. Few people have been properly listened to, or engaged with someone who tries to understand them without judging them. This is really something transformative and enables deep genuine growth. I am drawn to the profession so that I may offer this to people.

I have been influenced by the psychodynamic theories and Analytical psychology (Jungian theory), through to the approaches of Arnold Mindell with Process oriented psychology, as well as the Hakomi method and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I believe by holding the maps of the human psyche as envisioned by Carl Jung and many of the early psychoanalysts, the three modern approaches of Process work, the Hakomi method, and IFS can be used as complementary ways to explore a persons inner experiences. I believe It is with these three modern methods being used together that deep work can be done most safely and efficiently.

I have been transformed by therapy myself. I have developed a calmness and inner balance I never thought possible. I still engage in the therapeutic process.

The world is an interwoven web. To focus on a single problem as most significant runs too great a risk of losing perspective of the interconnected nature of life. Like the world, a person is not a single problem but an ecology that needs to be brought into balance.
