Philosophy & Vision
I am a neuro-affirming, trauma-informed therapist with a Master of Counselling degree and a passion for helping my clients find more self-compassion and deeper self-understanding to live a more balanced, contented and rewarding life.
Are you struggling with overwhelm, a harsh inner critic, or excessive rumination? Do you feel adrift, misunderstood or unfulfilled? Is self-doubt or perfectionism bringing you down? Are negative core beliefs holding you back? I work with people aged 15 and over with these struggles, just like you.
I have a particular interest in supporting late-diagnosed (or self-identifying) neurodivergent adults who are experiencing poorer mental health and overwhelm from struggling in a world that does not value our uniqueness. I believe in the unique value of every person and that embracing diversity in all its forms makes our world a richer and stronger place.
Background
After studying psychology at the UNSW, I started on the path to becoming a psychologist but diverted from this path due to life circumstances. However, returning to the helping professions in later life felt like coming full circle after a lifetime gathering experience.
Along the way, I worked in the community sector, providing services to disadvantaged populations. I also trained as a primary school teacher and worked in the classroom before taking time out to raise three neurodivergent children. For a period of time I also ran my own creative business! During this time, I felt the pull back to the "helping professions" and completed my Master of Counselling.
In 2024, I realised my dream to start my private practice as a counsellor.
Services
I provide individual counselling to people aged 15 and over, in-person and online.
Issues I commonly help with include anxiety, depression, overwhelm, burnout, stress, relationship and communication issues, harsh internal voices, and challenging the limiting expectations from outside and within.
I have a special interest in neurodivergence and supporting late-diagnosed neurodivergent adults and those who self-identify or are exploring the possibility of being neurodivergent.
Quality Provision
My practice is trauma-informed, neuro-affirming and LGBTQIA+ allied. My approach is person-centred and collaborative, believing you are the expert in your own life.
I use evidence-based approaches in an integrative way to help you find your own solutions to the challenges you face.
I am committed to regular clinical supervision, ethical practice and life-long learning.

From a young age I have been interested in the "helping professions". For a long time I thought it would be in a medical/physical health capacity but I discovered an interest in psychology in my first year of university. Although I diverted from this path, the desire to "help" was always there. My own experiences of grief, parenting stress, mental health challenges and supporting my neurodivergent children led me back to counselling later in life.

I am a humanistic practitioner with a strong belief in our common humanity and deep compassion for every being. In my work I strive to provide unconditional positive regard and non-judgement, and display genuine caring for my clients.
Having experienced the loss of many significant people, beginning with my mother when I was just 24, I also have an interest in existential therapy. My work with clients often delves into what it means to live life with meaning and purpose. -
I am particularly interested in neurodivergence. In fact, I value human diversity in all its forms and am passionate about helping clients to explore and embrace their uniqueness.

My approach is person-centred and I primarily use talk-based therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I find the non-pathologising language used in Parts Work particularly useful for helping clients become more self-compassionate. Sometimes, though, words are not enough and I will draw on some creative approaches such as Interactive Drawing Therapy.

Simply taking the first step to seek help is progress. For some, their first session is the first time they feel truly listened to and this in itself is powerful. But it is that first “ah-ha” moment of personal insight that often sparks hope.

Therapy helped me through my grief when my mum died when I was 24. Therapy helped me navigate the overwhelm of parenthood. Therapy continues to help me gain self-understanding, self-acceptance and self-compassion.

My clients! I feel truly honoured that they share their stories with me and allow me into their lives. People are endlessly fascinating.

I definitely have “I’m a human and struggle sometimes too” days.

Disconnection. When we lose connection with one another we begin to fear “the other”. Fear of difference breeds judgement and judgement breeds hate. If we can connect with others with curiosity and compassion, we discover our shared humanity and it becomes impossible to turn our backs on the needs of others. Furthermore, it is humankind’s disconnection from the Earth that is driving the climate change that poses a real threat to the world as we know it.
