    Therapy Approach

I offer an integrative psychotherapy approach to evidence-based practices helping clients reshape their nervous systems to support emotional regulation and connection to self and others.

The foundation of my therapy approach is highly relational and holistically based. I utilise many integrative approaches to help address the impacts of stress and trauma on the brain, nervous system and on interpersonal relationships. I view mental health experiences of chronic stress, anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, ADHD, depression, dissociation, PTSD and Complex PTSD through this holistic, relational and neurobiological lens.

    A conversation with Niki Gelekis

    • I began my career as a Naturopath and noticed that many people's health concerns had root causes in emotional and relational pain. This led me down the path of studying counselling and then specialiasing in trauma, relational wounds and nervous system support.
    • My therapy approach has been deeply influenced by interpersonal neurobiology and also polyvagal theory which is the science of safety. Attachment theory also informs all of my relational therapy practices. As a Trauma Therapist, the science of safety and connection underpins all my work.
    • How childhood relational and emotional wounds impact our adult lives in all areas and how healing and integrating past experiences can create space for authentic living and connection.

    • Once they are feeling safer within themselves and within their relationships.
    • I have been on my own emotional healing journey for many years and have integrated many of my wounded parts that have allowed me to have more meaningful relationship in my life. I have learnt to regulate my nervous system and create deep connections with self and others.
    • Journeying with clients as they dive deep into their emotional wounds and being part of their transformational healing. Seeing them settle into their authenticity and seeing their relationships flourish.
    • Yes I sure do. I the use self compassion and tend to my parts that are struggling.
    • Disconnection from others and a sense of loneliness in a abusy world.
