Philosophy & Vision

My ideal clients are adolescents, young adults, and adults who appear to be coping on the outside but feel overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally exhausted beneath the surface. Many struggle with people-pleasing, boundaries, self-worth, overthinking, and stress. I provide a supportive space to understand these patterns, strengthen emotional regulation and boundaries, and build confidence, self-worth, and clarity to help clients thrive.

My approach is warm, collaborative, culturally informed, and evidence-based, drawing on CBT, ACT, and trauma-informed care to build insight, emotional regulation, boundaries, and self-compassion, so clients feel more grounded and confident.

My goal is to help break down barriers that may prevent individuals from accessing support or reaching their potential. I aim to empower clients to build confidence, independence, and develop the tools needed to improve resilience and self-understanding.

Background

My passion for psychology began when I migrated from Malaysia to Australia as a teenager. Experiencing a new culture and witnessing the stigma surrounding mental health highlighted the importance of having access to understanding, support, and meaningful conversations about wellbeing. Since high school, I knew I wanted to pursue a career where I could help others navigate life's challenges.

Throughout my career, I have worked across a range of settings, including youth community services, occupational rehabilitation, and private practice. My experience includes supporting young people through personal and developmental challenges, as well as helping individuals recover from psychological injuries and return to work.

Services

  • Counselling, Assessment, Online Video Consultations
  • I offer both face-to-face and telehealth psychology appointments. In-person sessions are held in a warm, private, and welcoming therapy space in Camberwell, providing a safe environment to explore challenges and work towards meaningful change. A conversation with Natalie Lim

    • Growing up in an Asian country, I noticed that while physical health and medical care were strongly emphasised, mental health was rarely talked about. Preventative support for emotional wellbeing was limited, and many struggles were not openly acknowledged. When I moved to Australia as a teenager, I was introduced to a very different way of thinking—one where mental health was spoken about more openly and compassionately. This experience opened my eyes and led me to pursue a career in counselling and psychology.
