Philosophy & Vision

Many people encounter challenges in life. These challenges can be painful and the journey to navigate these can at times be isolating and de-stabilising. Meaningful and successful therapy is about safety, trust and collaboration. It is about exploring the unique characteristics of you, the individual. Relationships are at the centre of our world and the relationships we have influence every other relationship we have. Meaningful therapy, first is about creating a safe container and therapeutic relationship. From a good solid foundation, then we can start to explore areas of challenge and vulnerability.

I work with a range of clients across the developmental life span and from different walks of life.

Background

I am an endorsed Educational and Developmental Psychologist. I have experience with clients across the lifespan (i.e., children, young people in out-of-home care, teenagers in both mental health/education settings, providing support to adults with mental illnesses as well as those who have experienced childhood trauma, and individuals in the Perinatal Period and transition to parenthood.

I currently work with Gidget Foundation with individuals in the Perinatal Period, with Converge EAP and in my private practice, Vibe Psychology in both Lismore and Tweed Heads locations.

    Therapy Approach

I operate from a trauma-informed lense that uses a holistic integrative approach that sees you, the client, as the centre of the process and your own agent of change. Together, we create a sacred space to lean into vulnerability and develop an awareness of patterns, responses and ways of navigating challenges. You control the process and the pace and direction of our sessions. We have a focus on long-term goals, as well as address issues that arise in daily life, that may or not be relevant to the treatment process.

A critical element of the process and treatment outcomes is the therapeutic relationship- feeling seen, heard and understood. We develop the foundations first, before we we start leaning into the challenges.
