Philosophy & Vision
The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them. - Albert Einstein.
Distorted perceptions and misguided strategies underlie most of our emotional difficulties. An overriding focus in all of my work is dealing with those learned patterns of thinking and emotion that interfere with the ability to successfully navigate life and genuinely connect with self and others.
Background
I have been working as a therapist and counsellor for almost twenty-five years. From 1992 until October 2008 I had been with Northern Sydney Central Coast Health, working in both residential and outpatient services with the Royal North Shore Hospital and Manly Hospital's drug and alcohol units, for the last four years on staff at Mona Vale Hospital and Queenscliff Health Centre with Community Drug, Alcohol & Gambling Services. After sixteen years I left the public service to focus more fully on the private work I have been doing since 2002.
