Philosophy & Vision
Hello, I'm Kate - I am psychodynamic therapist and clinical psychologist. I primarily work with other helping professionals and creatives who are seeking help with finding meaning in their lives and might be feeling burnt out, stuck or out of alignment. Psychodynamic therapy offers a pathway to relief and transformation through greater awareness of the self. It is an encompassing, compassionate and nourishing therapy which suits people who wish to know themselves deeply.
Services
My patients are typically people who are seeking therapy not just to relieve their symptoms, but to really know themselves. You might have struggled at different times with mental health issues like depression, anxiety or post-traumatic stress, but underneath these symptoms, you're probably wrestling with broader questions about who you are, what you're for and how your role in your career and relationships fits within a philosophy that feels right to you. You might even need some space to make sense of what's happening in your community, country and world in general in order to cultivate a sense of meaning and hope in your own life.
Quality Provision
I am a clinical psychology registrar with the Psychology Board of Australia and am a full Member of the Australian Psychological Society. I graduated with distinction from my Masters of Clinical Psychology at Queensland University of Technology, following my completion of a Bachelor of Psychological Science with First Class Honours from the University of Queensland. I continue seeking supervision and training both locally and internationally. I am also a qualified yoga teacher.

Therapy Approach
Psychodynamic therapy is based on the notion that our experiences and patterns of interacting with the world have unconscious roots within us that we are not consciously aware of. These patterns result in a kind of magnetism to repetition of the familiar that we cannot resolve simply with logic. By tracing to the source of your particular repetitions, through an exploration of the past, the present and also what happens in the relationship evolving between us, change can happen organically and instinctively from the inside, as opposed being imposed on you by behavioural instruction.
