I specialise in helping with anxiety, low or changing mood, trouble achieving satisfying relationships, or difficulty enjoying achievements. I will tailor therapy based on your needs and help you find direction. "I can only find myself in and between me and my fellows in a human conversation" (Hobson, 1985 p. 135) I will work closely with you to form a supportive relationship based on an understanding of your life, emotions, struggles, traumas, achievements, and important relationships.

    My work is informed by The Conversational Model of Psychotherapy, which has proven effective in helping with an extensive range of difficulties, including past or recent trauma, feelings of isolation, alienation, anxiety, an inability to enjoy personal achievements, low or changing mood, problems adjusting to change, and difficulty achieving satisfying relationships.
    I also use CBT, Attachment informed Couples and Family Therapy, Neurobiology, Self Psychology, and other modalities as appropriate clients' needs. I am also interested in the role of creativity in achieving a sense of well-being, connection and healing.

    Background

    I commenced working as psychotherapist in 1989 as a Somatic Psychotherapist, later completing studies in Psychology followed by Post-Graduate Training in the Conversational Model of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. I have worked in Private Practice and Public & Private Mental health settings, as a Child and Adult Sexual Assault Counsellor, as a Perinatal-Infant-Child and Family Practitioner, a Relationship Counsellor, and a Trauma Informed Individual and Group Therapist. I am also a Facilitator of the Circle of Security Parenting Program, which I can deliver to individuals, couples and groups.

    Transport and Parking

    Glebe: Bus services 370, 431 and 433 stop at the door. Free parking in Wigram Rd and other nearby streets, and metered parking on Glebe Point Rd.
    Penrith: Free parking in Judges carpark behind the office. Penrith Train Station is a short walk away.

    Fees

    Individuals: $170 B.H. and $185 After hours (Medicare rebates avail with a GP referral)
    Couples: $190
    I can also offer a sliding scale depending on individual circumstances.

    Payment Options

    EFTPOS (including Medicare rebate), Cash, and Direct Deposit by arrangement.
