A conversation with Kate Beckwith
-
I wanted to contribute to society in a positive way. Social work seemed to have a strong values base grounded in social justice and human rights. I find working with people on their well-being rewarding and enjoy seeing people grow and make progress. I also had good experiences in therapy and it made a really positive impact on my life. I'd like to offer the same.

I have built understanding of myself. I have developed healthy boundaries. I have ended toxic relationships and developed new healthy and fulfilling ones. I have learned to understand my neurotype and what my strengths are as a human. This led to me becoming a social worker and counsellor.

I like seeing people grow into themselves, develop confidence and make steps into their recovery. I like seeing people find their own insights in a supported space. I also like the knowledge and skills development I get as a professional because mental health is such a vast knowledge base and there are always things to learn and develop, so it stimulates my brain in a positive way.
