I believe that my clients have the desire and the capacity to grow towards fulfilling their true potential, and that they are the experts on their own lives. I am accepting and understanding of each person's reality. I'm open-minded and non-judgmental. I will be active and direct to work with you break patterns that are not working for you, and bring you closer to your partner.
In addition to a PhD in Psychology, I have more recently completed a Diploma in Counselling, training in the Gottman Method (Level 3), Imago couples therapy, sex therapy, and specialised training in addiction and working with groups.

I'm Dr Karin du Plessis and I specialise in working with couples, using the Gottman Method. This includes couples who experience frequent arguments, poor communication, are on the verge of separation, or are emotionally-distant.
