Philosophy & Vision

I am a clinical psychologist who offers integrative psychotherapy within a therapeutic relationship of warmth and acceptance. I aim to skilfully support and guide you to create change from the inside out, to (re)connect with your innate strengths and wisdom in order to not only feel less distressed, but just as importantly to grow and flourish within yourself, your relationships, your life.

Background

I have clinical experience across various inpatient and outpatient settings in the private and public sectors. In my private practice I provide psychotherapy for a range of concerns including (but not limited to): depression and mood problems, trauma, anxiety and stress, grief and loss, adjustment and life transitions, addictive behaviours, relationship or interpersonal problems. My doctoral thesis focused on family caregivers providing care to a loved one at end-of-life at home and I worked for 7 years at Karuna Hospice Services in addition to private practice. Thus, I have expertise working with issues related to caregiving, end-of-life, death and grief and loss.

Services

  • Counselling, Psychotherapy, Phone Consultations, Online Video Consultations
  • I approach my work with clients with warmth and respect. My clients tell me that they feel safe to talk with me about difficult things and that they experience me as non-judgemental and genuinely caring. I strongly believe that the safety of an empathic and accepting relationship with clients is the basis from which change can take place. As a clinical psychologist, I am qualified and experienced in supporting people with a broad and complex range of concerns. I work with people who meet criteria for a mental health disorder, such as depression and anxiety, and those who do not have a clinical diagnosis. Depending on your needs and goals, I can provide brief therapy or longer-term psychotherapy.

    Quality Provision

I am a registered psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and hold specialist endorsement in Clinical Psychology. I engage in regular confidential supervision with peers and more experienced psychologists to monitor and improve the quality of my work with clients. Additionally, I love learning about latest research findings in psychotherapy and attending training to ensure my knowledge and skills continue to grow.
