Philosophy & Vision

I help couples, adolescents and families understand what's really going on underneath the surface so they can begin to rebuild connections, regain trust and enjoy relationships that are more nourishing and a whole lot more meaningful.

When couples, families or individuals first come to see me, they're usually struggling with feelings of frustration, anger and resentment. They're stuck in a rut with their loved one and can't seem to break or change old patterns of behaviour. Sometimes it's a last ditch effort to save the relationship from falling apart altogether.

Background

Since 2008 I have had the privilege of helping countless couples, parents and adolescents with a range of mental health, drug, alcohol and relationship issues.

I am trained in:
Interpersonal Psychotherapy
Family Systems Therapy
Circle of Security Parenting DVD Facilitation
Clinical Supervision

Services

  • Counselling, Psychotherapy, Couples Therapy, Family Therapy, Group Therapy, Coaching / Mentoring, Workshops / Courses, Online Video Consultations
  • A desire for love, connection and a true sense of belonging are at the very heart of why we seek relationships. Yet at the same time we fear, and sometimes avoid, being vulnerable with others in case it leads to rejection, disapproval and loneliness.

Despite the many rewarding aspects of relationships, building and maintaining happy and healthy connections with our family, partners and friends, can be tough.

I believe in having real conversations and providing space for people to talk openly and honestly about what is at the heart of the matter causing concern for them.

    Quality Provision

I am a qualified Family Systems therapist. This means I have specific training that helps me view the patterns of behaviour that have a negative impact on relationships. Working with one, a few or the whole family in the room, I take into consideration each person's unique story and help people change the way they view the problem.

    Therapy Approach

People who work with me very quickly discover it's not about laying blame or finding fault. It's about how we relate to one another, why we relate the way we do, and more importantly, what we can do to improve the quality of the relationship.

With a focus on the mechanics of the relationship I look at how it works, the patterns and the dynamics that are occurring between the couple or the family members.
