Philosophy & Vision

Therapy is a space for reflection, growth, and meaningful change. I take a collaborative and practical approach, helping clients make sense of their experiences, build useful skills, and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.

I work with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, OCD, eating disorders, neurodivergence (ADHD & ASD), burnout, and relationship challenges. Many clients seek both practical tools and a deeper understanding of their emotions. This might include identifying anxiety triggers, working through body image concerns, or improving relationship dynamics—always tailored to each person’s needs.

I also support couples in navigating challenges, strengthening their connection, and improving communication. Whether adjusting to life changes or working through conflict, I help couples develop healthier ways of relating and creating positive, lasting change.

    A conversation with Julia Agnoletto

    • I was drawn to psychology because of my interest in understanding human behaviour and helping others navigate emotional and psychological challenges. The ability to support individuals in their own personal growth, healing, and transformation felt both meaningful and rewarding, aligning with my passion for making a positive impact on others' lives.
    • My professional development has been shaped by humanistic psychology, focusing on empathy and growth, and existential philosophy, which informs my focus on meaning-making and navigating life’s challenges.
    • I’m interested in mental health, emotional well-being, and personal growth, particularly in areas like anxiety, eating disorders, OCD, burnout, and relationships. My focus is on helping individuals build resilience, navigate challenges, and create fulfilling lives.
    • I use a client-centred approach, drawing on a combination of therapeutic frameworks to help clients challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, process emotions, and strengthen relationships. My main focus is the therapeutic relationship, as I believe it is the foundation of effective therapy. A strong, trusting connection provides a safe space for exploration, growth, and meaningful change.
    • Clients start to feel progress as they gain self-awareness, reduce symptoms, and adopt new coping strategies. They often experience shifts in perspective, increased confidence, and better emotional regulation, with progress unfolding through small, incremental changes.
    • Being a therapist has deepened my self-awareness and empathy, while my own therapy has helped me process challenges and grow. This ongoing journey enhances how I connect with and support clients in their own transformations.
    • What I enjoy most about being a therapist is witnessing clients’ growth and transformation. I find it fulfilling to help them gain insight, develop new skills, and navigate life’s challenges, all while fostering a space of trust and connection.
    • Of course! That’s what slicked-back buns are for!
    • Inequality is a major issue because it perpetuates poverty, limits opportunities, and creates divisions in society. Addressing it is key to fostering a more just, equitable world where everyone has the chance to thrive.
    • One book that inspires me is Maybe You Should Talk to Someone by Lori Gottlieb. It’s a therapist’s memoir that’s both funny and insightful, reminding me that therapists are human too and that personal growth is a constant journey of change and self-awareness.
