Philosophy & Vision

At JB Consulting and Psychology, we understand that every person is unique and sometimes needs a little extra support. Our experienced and compassionate child, adolescent and adult psychologist, Josephine, is dedicated to providing the best care for her clients.

Josephine has a special interest helping children and adolescents facing emotional, behavioural, and social challenges as well as supporting children and adults cope with separation and divorce. She also has a special interest in helping her clients heal from trauma with therapies such as EMDR and CBT.

Background

In 2010 I began my journey in mental health as a counsellor working with children, adolescents and adults. Since 2021 I registered as a psychologist and initially supported clients of all ages on NDIS Psychology and Behaviour Support funding to achieve their goals and currently with Psychology funding. I have worked in organisations running communication and mental health workshops. I continue to work with children, adolescents and adults to improve their mental health, and separated and divorced parents to manage communication, cope with grief and loss and manage coparenting.

Now I am trained in EMDR. I tailor my work to meet my client's need. I continue to work holistically with my clients to achieve the best outcomes.

    A conversation with Josephine Borg

    • The power of the tool. It is a powerful resource to help people cope with life challenges and change.
    • To meet my clients where they are at. The humanistic and strength based approach and to be trauma informed.
    • all ages. young people are flexible in their thinking and willing to explore different perspectives. Adults may have more resources to heal from life challenges.
    • CBT, mindfulness, person centred counselling, EMDR, DBT
Social skills training, EFT and emotion focused therapy.
    • While progress is gradual and different for each client signs include increased self-awareness and able to share emotions. They also talk about improvements between sessions.
    • I have learned that no matter what people go through, there is the ability to heal. The tools have not only been helpful for my clients but also myself.
    • The ability to heal and the privilege to listen to my client's stories for healing.
    • Yes I have had many but I make sure I am psychologically present for my clients.
    • climate change, the inability to see from another perspective and lack of boundaries.
    • Ahhh there are so many. The Bible is one that inspires me and helps me through life. More are on my website - see self help resources.
