Philosophy & Vision

I understand that individuals come to counselling for a variety of reasons. I aim to ensure that every client feels safe, respected and understood. I prioritise trust and empowerment and will work collaboratively with you on your identified goals.

I have experience working with: - Women escaping domestic, family and sexual violence - Women engaged with the child protection system - Victims of crime - Parents, carers and families - Individuals recovering from alcohol and other drug use - Defence members and their families - Defence veterans and their families.

Background

I have worked in mental health care at senior levels both in government and private not-for-profit settings. I am experienced in providing trauma-informed care to young people, individuals and couples.

  • Counselling, Psychotherapy, Couples Therapy, Phone Consultations, Online Video Consultations
  • Sessions are available in-person, online via Halaxy or over the phone. I am available Mondays and Saturdays from 9:00am to 5:30pm.

    Quality Provision

    An introductory phone call is available to answer any questions you might have, and to work out the best way forward at no cost. This call is an opportunity to discuss your needs and expectations and to clarify any concerns you might have.

    Therapy Approach

    I work with clients who may be struggling with a variety of complex issues. I provide compassionate, strengths-based, person-centred care that aims to empower individuals.

    Principles of trauma-informed care, harm-minimisation and recovery-oriented practice are all essential elements to my work with clients. I aim to ensure you feel safe, respected and understood.

    I draw from a number of therapeutic modalities in my practice including Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Attachment theory, Response Based Practice, CBT, ACT, DBT and Motivational Interviewing.

    I will work collaboratively with you to develop a therapeutic plan to address your concerns.

    Fees & Insurance

    A 60 minute counselling session is available for:
    Young people (15 - 25) $120
    Individuals $160
    Couples $180

    A free 15 minute initial consultation call is available.
    Private Health fund rebates are available.
