Philosophy & Vision

Hi, my name is Jennifer. I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating relationship challenges, life transitions, cultural identity, and grief. I also provide specialized support in areas such as pet loss grief therapy, conscious uncoupling and co-parenting, and premarital workshops. Alongside counselling, I offer professional supervision for counsellors, with a reflective and growth-focused approach.

Therapy is not always easy—it can mean sitting with discomfort, facing old wounds, or changing long-held patterns. But it is also deeply rewarding. I witnessed the power of people discovering new ways of relating, finding strength they didn’t know they had, and stepping into more authentic versions of themselves. I also see counselling as a space for growth and exploration. By addressing patterns, strengthening skills, and building insight, clients can create lives that feel more aligned with their values and hopes.

Background

With over 2 decades of experience, I have worked with individuals, children, youths, couples and families from diverse cultural backgrounds, both internationally and locally.

My background in working with various vulnerable populations, including child protection services has provided me with a deep understanding of the complexities involved in safeguarding these populations. I adopt a trauma-informed approach in my practice, ensuring that I provide a safe and supportive environment for clients who have experienced various challenges in their lives.

    Therapy Approach

I see therapy as a collaborative process where clients are met with warmth, respect, and curiosity. It’s a space where stories are honoured, where cultural and personal histories are seen, and where people can gently explore what’s holding them back.

A big part of my approach involves psychoeducation. I am passionate about helping people understand how the brain works. I believe when there is better understanding of how the brain responds to trauma, how cultural expectations shape us, how old wounds influence our reactions, we can replace shame with understanding, and confusion with clarity. From there, we work together on strategies that address issues at your core, allowing change to feel real and sustainable.
