I draw on two main methodologies which inform my practice. The first is transactional analysis, which provides a positive view of human nature and people’s capacity to change. The second is Imago, a unique method of working with couples, devised by Harville Hendrix. The aim of Imago Therapy is to create a safe space where couples can talk about the issues that are bothering them. The counsellor facilitates a dialogue between partners and this process can be practised at home.
I offer individual counselling, supervision and couples counselling.
Imago Relationship, Inner Child, Transactional Analysis
I draw on two main modalities:
1) transactional analysis, which believes in contractual work, with a strong humanistic tradition, believing that all human beings have the capacity to grow and change and
2) Imago, which believes in the essential condition of safety for couples work, where each partner feels safe to reveal what is really going on for them
I have a background in education and firmly believe in the old adage that the best education is therapeutic and the best therapy is educational.
