Philosophy & Vision

I aim to balance the science of psychology with the art of counselling and psychotherapy. The foundation of all effective psychotherapy is a good working relationship between the client and therapist based on empathy, warmth, and positive regard. I listen attentively to understand your situation, thoughts, and feelings as thoroughly as possible.

Background

Prior to becoming a psychologist in 2001 I worked in disabilities, youth work, and the corporate world. As a psychologist I have worked in a youth counselling service (Youth Outreach), managed a suicide prevention counselling service (Selah), managed the largest intern psychologist supervision program in Australia (ACAP), and worked in private practice since 2010.

Services

  • Counselling, Psychotherapy, Assessment, Coaching / Mentoring, Clinical Supervision, Online Video Consultations
  • Our initial conversations will enable me to gain a thorough understanding of your concerns and the situation; this is important as it will help us determine which strategies may be best to help you achieve positive change. We will discuss your options and we will work together toward your goals, whatever they may be. I will ask you for your thoughts as we progress, making sure that you are happy with the direction and progress of therapy.
