Philosophy & Vision
Hi, I’m Freya. I’m a Masters-qualified counsellor, psychotherapist, educator & mother working with couples, individuals and teens navigating relationship challenges, anxiety, grief and life transitions.
Many people come to therapy feeling stuck in painful patterns; conflict that keeps repeating, distance in their relationship, or a sense of disconnection from themselves or the people they care about. Therapy offers a space to slow down, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and discover new ways of relating.
My work is relational and trauma-informed. Together we can explore the challenges you’re facing now, as well as the deeper experiences and patterns that shape how you connect with yourself and others.
I have training in Gottman Couples Therapy and a background in education supporting youth wellbeing. Alongside my professional training, I bring my own lived experience of therapy, long-term
Background
I have several years of experience supporting individuals, couples, families and teens. I have a particular interest in working with couples and supporting people to understand the patterns that shape their relationships - whether they are navigating conflict, communication challenges, separation, or rebuilding trust.
Alongside my work in the therapy room, I bring a background in education, supporting young people to navigate learning challenges, neurodivergence, emotional wellbeing and academic pressures.
My own experiences of therapy, long-term partnership, separation and parenting has deeply informed my work and fuels my passion for supporting couples, teens and families to thrive.
Services
I work with adults, couples and adolescents experiencing anxiety, relationship difficulties, trauma, parenting challenges and life transitions. My approach is relational and grounded in Gestalt therapy, offering a warm and reflective space to explore patterns, build insight and support meaningful change.

My approach is grounded in Gestalt and relational psychotherapy, which focus on developing awareness, understanding relationship patterns, and creating authentic connection. I also draw on attachment-informed and trauma-informed approaches, and use Gottman Method principles in my work with couples to support healthier communication and stronger relationships.

One book that has stayed with me is The Therapeutic Journey by Alain De Botton which beautifully explores how therapy can help us understand ourselves and our relationships with greater compassion. I also find inspiration in the music of Sigur Rós. Their music touches something in me that is not tied to language and words, more feeling. A film that has always resonated with me is Big Fish, which reflects the power of storytelling, meaning-making, the importance of love and the complexity of family relationships
