I Have Tried To Live A Simple Life But Nothing Is Going Smoothly Right Now.

Question: I think it is time I faced up to the fact that childhood experiences play a big role in how we get along as adults. I have tried to live a simple life but nothing is going smoothly right now. I've had a look at some of the counsellors and psychologists on your site and learned a little about the different approaches. Although this was helpful, it has also raised a couple of questions. Is it possible to speak with a counsellor briefly over the phone or do I have to make an appointment?

Answer: Whilst individual practitioners differ in what they are willing to do, most counsellors that I know will be happy to speak with you over the phone. My suggestion is that you choose two or three counsellors in your area, give them a call, and see where you go from there. I'd be very surprised if you don't find them helpful. You can then decide whether you want to take the next step and make an appointment to see one of them. I think you've already taken an important step forward by asking this question and I wish you well.
