I Am 12 Years And My Sister Is 10. Our Parents Are Separated And Our Mother Is Dying From Cancer.

Question:  I am 12 and my sister is 10. Our parents are separated and our mother is dying from cancer. My Dad says he is not comfortable coming to our house to look after my Mum and I feel I have to do it all by myself as well as look after my sister. I cry a lot and don't know what to do. My mum does have a lot of friends but they are not there all the time.

Answer:  It sounds like you are very grown up already for a twelve year old and have some very hard stuff happening in your life. It is important to find ways to care for yourself and to get as much help for the family as possible. Keep talking to your mum's friends and any family members who can help. You don't have to take on so much responsibility all by yourself.
