Philosophy & Vision

I offer a thoughtful and relational approach to therapy, supporting people to make sense of their experiences and move toward meaningful change. I believe therapy works best when people feel safe, understood, and able to explore difficult experiences at a pace that feels right for them.

I work with adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and life transitions. I have a particular interest in complex trauma, including the impacts of childhood abuse, neglect, sexual abuse, and relational harm.

My approach integrates evidence-based therapies, including EMDR, while remaining flexible to the unique needs and goals of each person. My aim is to help clients better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and create lasting change in their lives.

Background

Prior to establishing my private practice on the Mornington Peninsula, I worked in a range of mental health settings in Australia and overseas. Most recently, I lived in Cambodia, where I founded and led a psychology service providing therapy, psychological assessments, supervision, and training.

Throughout my career, I have worked with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and complex mental health presentations. I have a particular interest in supporting people affected by complex trauma, including childhood abuse and neglect, sexual abuse, family violence, and other adverse life experiences.

I have a particular interest in complex trauma, including the impacts of childhood abuse, neglect, sexual abuse, family violence, and other adverse life experiences. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each person’s unique needs and goals.

    Therapy Approach

My approach is warm, collaborative, and tailored to the individual. I believe therapy works best when people feel safe, understood, and supported to explore their experiences at a pace that feels right for them.

I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches, including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). I also integrate attachment-informed and parts-informed perspectives where appropriate. Together, we work to better understand patterns that may be contributing to current difficulties, strengthen existing resources, and create meaningful and lasting change.
