Good Therapy Australia

The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change.

Philosophy & Vision

Specialising in insight oriented psychotherapy, I support people with:

- healing emotional pain and self doubt;
- personal growth;
- improving the quality of their relationships;
- recovery, e.g. trauma, grief, depression, or anxiety.

As an integrative therapist, I aim to find a balance between cognitive and experiential/somatic approaches. While I am trained in a wide range of techniques, I adapt the work to suit the client's personal needs and style.

Background

Since 1996, I have developed my practice in individual psychotherapy and clinical supervision. Additionally, I have worked as an educator in counselling and community work in the VET and Higher Education sectors.

Services

  • Counselling, Psychotherapy, Walk and Talk Therapy, Coaching / Mentoring, Clinical Supervision, Phone Consultations, Online Video Consultations
  • Working collaboratively, the first session is an opportunity to reach an agreement on how we will approach counselling (or supervision) together. Psychotherapy and/or counselling are often referred to as "Talking Therapy", and in most cases sessions consist of therapeutic conversations between therapist and client.

    Additionally, it may be effective to use other techniques, such as drawing/art, meditation or relaxation exercises, walking in nature, and other experiential activities that can facilitate the healing process. Experiential approaches may also be used in supervision.

    Quality Provision

    I have undergone advanced training in my areas of specialisation, and regularly participate in continuing professional education through supervision, peer discussions, and professional development training.

    I am accredited as a psychotherapist, clinical supervisor and mental health social worker, and am registered as a provider with Medicare and private health funds.

    Therapy Approach

    I take a warm and down to earth approach to therapy and supervision that is tailored to meet your unique circumstances and needs.

    It is important to me to not make assumptions about what is right for you, therefore, I will create an individual treatment plan that is guided by the goals and approaches we identify together - a genuinely collaborative approach.

    I understand that therapy is a commitment by both client and therapist to work towards real outcomes in the client's life and I will use my experience, knowledge and skills to help you achieve these.
