Philosophy & Vision
Hello, I’m Dettie, a white, non-binary queer and trans person living on the unceded land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nation. I’m a qualified social worker and therapist, providing counselling for individuals, couples, and families. I have an invested interest in working with neurodivergent people, LGBTIQA+ people and their families, survivors of conversion and suppression practices, people who have used violence in relationships and people who experience complex and/or relational trauma. I work with people of all genders, sexualities, religions/faiths and cultures
Background
I’ve worked in community services over the past 10 years and am experienced working in mental health, family violence, homelessness, alcohol and other drugs, disability & supporting people leaving custody. I take a collaborative and transparent approach, and love to hear about what modalities and interventions you prefer (and those you do not like!).

I provide individual, relationship and family therapy for clients of all ages (over 6). I have some availability for home or school visits, however please reach out to me first before booking in.

Therapy Approach
I have training and experience in a range of modalities and treatments. I am an integrative therapist tending to favour attachment based theory, interpersonal therapy, internal family systems (parts) theory, structural family therapy, systemic family therapy, DBT distress tolerance skills and narrative therapy.

Appointments
I currently work in person out of Northcote and Coburg, as well as online when needed. I work out of Northcote on Mondays and Thursdays, and out of Coburg on Saturdays. I am also available for some school and home visits on Mondays and Thursdays.
