Philosophy & Vision
Hi, I’m Dani :)
I provide neurodivergent-led, trauma-informed counselling with a focus on supporting women and neurodivergent adults (autistic, ADHD, and AuDHD). My approach is collaborative and inclusive, honouring your natural rhythms and what matters most to you.
As a late-identified autistic and ADHD adult, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to my work. Sessions are flexible, client-led, and neurodiversity affirming, designed to meet you where you are and move at a pace that feels right for you.
Together we can:
Explore identity and build self-worth
Process late-identification of neurodivergence
Embrace strengths, self-expression, and unmasking
Build confidence, self-advocacy, and understand support needs
Support burnout recovery and energy management
Navigate anxiety and relationships
Background
Before private practice, I gained experience in counselling and mental health roles, supporting diverse clients across community and organisational settings. My path into counselling was shaped by a strong interest in psychology, wellbeing, and lived experience.

A conversation with Daniella Carfi

I’ve always been drawn to helping professions and had a deep interest in psychology and human behaviour. My own experience of working with a therapist gave me valuable insight into counselling, and inspired me to pursue this path. From there, my passion grew into a career where I can support others to feel understood, connected, and empowered in their own lives.
-
My practice is grounded in humanistic and person-centred philosophies, which emphasise empathy, authenticity, and meeting people where they are. I believe therapy should honour the whole person, including the underlying factors and life experiences that shape how we think, feel, and respond. I’m also influenced by existential ideas around meaning and choice, as well as a neurodiversity-affirming perspective that celebrates and embraces all kinds of brains.
-
I’m especially interested in how identity, self-worth, and wellbeing are shaped, and what it means to reconnect with one’s authentic self

Progress looks different for everyone- some people notice changes quickly in how they manage emotions, set boundaries, or approach challenges, while for others, growth unfolds more gradually as insight, confidence, and practical strategies develop. I work collaboratively with each client to identify goals and celebrate small steps along the way, helping them recognise progress in ways that are meaningful to them.
-
I tried therapy several times before finding the right fit. Working with a long-term counsellor who I felt truly understood me made a huge difference and inspires the way I support clients now.
-
What I love most is the honour of building a genuine connection with clients and being trusted to sit together during vulnerable moments. I value witnessing and being part of the human experience in all its complexity.

Absolutely! Some telehealth days you might catch me on a 'bad hair' day, possibly in my pyjamas, and always in slippers. For me, counselling is about showing up authentically and having a space where you can be yourself, however that looks.
