    10 Questions with Daisy Dollisson-Oatley

    • What led you to choose psychotherapy or counselling as a profession?

    • Before being a psychotherapist I was a farmer. Whilst working with people on my farm I found myself inadvertently holding therapeutic spaces for people and also others for me. The dropping into greater depth and openness was happening alongside the tasks of tending soil, plants and animals.

This sparked a curiosity to further this capacity and led me to pursue psychotherapy and counselling. I saw the potential for myself, together with the land, to offer mental, emotional and spiritual sanctuary. Although initially I perceived this work as part of my farming skillset I have stepped back from farming to focus on my work as a psychotherapist. I would like to merge the work with my farm in the future.
