Philosophy & Vision
I work with thoughtful adults who are ready to understand what's driving patterns in their life & to create lasting change. My clients often want to go deeper, & come to me after not quite finding what they needed from self-help or other types of therapy.
My path to psychotherapy was a hero's journey. After years in demanding corporate leadership roles abroad, I faced major life challenges that led me back to my first love: psychology. That experience of rebuilding myself taught me that real change often requires deep inner work to find the right path.
I've trained in a broad range of approaches to therapy, including Jungian depth psychology and Internal Family Systems. IFS is central to my work because it mirrors what I know to be true: we're made up of different parts, each with its own protective purpose. When we understand what's going on deep within us, real change happens.
Background
Before starting my private practice, I spent years in senior leadership roles in the corporate world, living and working abroad in high-pressure environments. That experience taught me a lot about what it takes to succeed externally, but it also showed me what happens when we disconnect from ourselves in the process. After facing some significant life challenges, I made the decision to return to my first love: psychology.
I completed postgraduate degrees in psychology & counselling, trained extensively in IFS therapy, and studied a broad range of approaches including depth psychology CBT, ACT, and somatic work. Since opening A New Chapter, I've worked with clients across Australia and internationally to create lasting change.

Therapy Approach
My approach is grounded in Internal Family Systems (IFS), a compassionate, evidence-based therapy that helps you understand the different parts within you. While IFS forms the foundation of my work, I'm integrative & bring in other approaches when they'll genuinely help you. This might include CBT for challenging rigid thought patterns, ACT for values work and acceptance, narrative therapy for reshaping your story, or somatic techniques when we need to work with what the body is holding.
My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and paced for your comfort. We work together to figure out what you actually need, not what a manual says you should do. Real change happens when you feel safe enough to be fully seen, including by yourself.

I'm endlessly curious, and I've studied everything from neuropsychology and behavioural approaches to depth psychology and somatic work. But I'm most drawn to humanistic perspectives that honour the complexity of the human mind and spirit. I believe we're more than just our thoughts or behaviours. We are intricate, multifaceted beings, and real healing happens when we can approach ourselves with that kind of respect and curiosity.

I'm fascinated by how we make sense of ourselves, our relationships, and the patterns we keep repeating when we don't want to. I help people with self-worth challenges, relationship and attachment patterns, life transitions, and self-sabotage. I'm interested in how change happens when we slow down enough to explore to what's going on inside with compassion and curiosity.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is the foundation of my work (and I've completed formal training in this approach). While IFS guides most of my sessions, I'm integrative and bring in other evidence-based approaches when they'll genuinely help. I find that CBT is helpful for thought patterns, ACT for creating momentum in creating the life you really want, narrative therapy to explore new perspectives, and somatic techniques when working with what the body is holding. I'm collaborative and flexible, always adapting to what you actually need.

I love connecting with people and witnessing their aha moments. There's something profound about being present when someone finally understands a pattern that's been running their life, or when they realise they can approach themselves differently. I love seeing people let go of things that have been holding them back, growing and hearing how they are noticing positive changes in their lives.

Absolutely! I very much have bad days. I've learned how to meet myself on those days with self-compassion (rather than criticising myself for not having it all together). I know what it's like to struggle, and I know that healing isn't about becoming perfect.
