Philosophy & Vision

I specialise in working with complex trauma, dissociative disorders, grief and loss. But I also see clients for many other concerns as well including personal and relationship issues, depression, anxiety, life transitions and women's issues.

I offer clinical supervision and case consultation to therapists who work with clients presenting with CPTSD/ Dissociative Disorders.

Background

I have over 20 years experience in the public health system and have worked extensively within acute adult and youth mental health agencies both public and private. My areas of experience and expertise include complex trauma and dissociative disorders, attachment/relational trauma, depression and anxiety, suicidality, personality disorders, self harm, sexual assault, childhood abuse and other post-trauma issues, grief and loss and relationship issues.

Therapy Approach

I am an accredited Gestalt Therapist and have specialist training in helping those who have experienced trauma including CPTSD. Other modalities that also inform my practice are psychoanalytic theory, CBT and Mindfulness and Internal Family Systems.

I am interested and open to the possibilities that disciplines such as meditation, yoga and spirituality may also contribute to mental health and wellbeing. I am particularly interested in current break throughs in neuroscience research and how this can be applied to psychotherapy and counselling practice.
