Philosophy & Vision

Therapy can offer a meaningful way forward. A process that offers clarification and understanding within a safe space can provide a deeper awareness of how and why one behaves and feels as they do, and can set the path for change and personal development. We all have an built capacity to change and evolve. Working through our personal struggles, repeated patterns and underlying issues can increase the capacity for experiencing fulfilling relationships and a rich, meaningful life.

I am a practicing Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years experience providing individual psychotherapy to adolescents and adults.

Background

I am a registered, practicing Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years experience working in both the private and public sphere with a range of individuals who present with emotional and psychological difficulties. Within the last 6 years, I have worked with individuals presenting with complex mental health issues within a private psychiatric hospital, providing both individual and group psychotherapy. I have also provided individual psychotherapy to adolescent and adult clients in private practice who present with problems related to specific and situational difficulties, as well as those who experience ongoing distress associated with their early life or past experiences, sense of self and their relationships.

    Therapy Approach

My approach is to work together to provide an empathic, genuine and mutual understanding of a person's difficulties, with a view to enhancing personal growth and personal meaning, and enriching relationships with oneself and others. Through a better understanding of one's self, other people and one's relationships, I aim to help individuals begin to discover and live from a place of their own authentic self. Building a safe therapeutic relationship is an important first step in this process. My approach integrates many differing schools of psychotherapy and is informed by psychoanalytic literature and the evidence base.
