Philosophy & Vision

I believe therapy is fundamentally about relationships, starting with the one we build together. When you share what's really going on, it brings up how you see yourself, connect with others, and the patterns that shape your life.

This process reveals insights about what's working and what might need to change. Whether dealing with anxiety, relationship struggles, transitions, or feeling stuck, there's always potential for growth.

I work with adults ready to take an honest look at their lives and relationships. Some come during crisis moments, others when doing well but wanting to grow. What they share is willingness to be curious and open to change.

I believe you already have wisdom within you. My role is creating space where you can access that wisdom and build tools to navigate life with more clarity and confidence.

    Therapy Approach

As an integrative psychotherapist, I draw from different therapeutic approaches to meet you where you are. I tailor our work to what fits best for you and your specific situation. I might use cognitive techniques for thought patterns, body-based approaches for overwhelming emotions, or explore past experiences influencing your present. Sometimes we focus on practical skills, other times deeper themes. Our relationship is collaborative. You're the expert on your life, and I bring training and perspective to help you see things from new angles. Together we create a safe space to explore and work toward the changes you want to make. My goal is to help you develop your own toolkit of insights and strategies that work beyond our sessions.

    A conversation with Auður Zoëga

    • Phenomenology, existentialism, stoicism, attachment theory, systems theory
    • My passion centers on early attachment and the foundational relationships that shape us. I'm particularly drawn to helping parents and young children (especially ages 0-3) establish and maintain strong, trusting connections during those crucial developmental years.

I believe these early bonds don't just impact individual families - they ripple outward to create more secure, empathetic people who are better equipped to care for each other and our world. When we get those first relationships right, we're literally building the emotional foundation for the next generation's capacity to connect, heal, and create positive change.

This intersection of individual healing and collective wellbeing is what drives my work. I'm fascinated by how something as intimate as a parent responding to their child's needs can contribute to raising humans who are more resilient, compassionate, and capable of addressing the challenges we face together.
    • The opportunity to connect deeply with my clients and create a space where they feel safe to explore their thoughts and feelings. I’m honored to support them through their challenges, witness their resilience, and celebrate their growth and self-discovery. Being part of that process of healing and transformation is incredibly meaningful to me.
    • I do notice days when my hair looks a little better or worse, but it’s rarely so bad that I’d call it a “bad hair day.” It’s all part of the normal ups and downs.
