Philosophy & Vision

Hello, I'm Amy, a dedicated Women's Counsellor with a Master's in Counselling Psychology from Canada and specialized training in EMDR and ACT. I also hold a Psychopharmacology certification from Harvard Medical School.

I am passionate about helping women navigate through traumas, anxiety, depression, grief, women's issues and more. My therapeutic approach combines EMDR, CBT, ACT and strength-based.

Background

In my previous jobs:

I offered comprehensive trauma counselling by providing education on anxiety and depression and developed personalized, person-centred treatment plans. Whether you are dealing with anxiety, depression, PTSD, or other complex conditions, my holistic approach ensures that every aspect of your well-being is considered, helping you move forward with confidence and clarity.

I dedicated my practice life to supporting survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. I provided compassionate, trauma-informed care to help clients heal and reclaim their lives. If you are a survivor of abuse, I understand the unique challenges you face, and I'm here to offer you the tools and support necessary.

    A conversation with Amy Shah

    • One book that has deeply inspired me in the field of mental health is "The Body Keeps the Score: Brain, Mind, and Body in the Healing of Trauma" by Bessel van der Kolk. The work explores the complex effects of trauma on the brain and body, offering insights into innovative therapies and approaches for healing. It has shaped my understanding of trauma and therapeutic practices, highlighting the importance of integrative approaches that address both psychological and physiological aspects of mental health.
