Philosophy & Vision

I believe in the value of counselling to help individuals gain a deeper understanding of themselves. I believe the more self-aware we can become, the easier it can be to engage positively with life's challenges. Our sessions will provide you with a non-judgemental, empathic and safe space to let yourself unfold, to bring into focus that which is most important to you, and to help you to live more fully in the moment. Self-compassion is the cornerstone of the work we will do together.

Background

I'm originally from the UK and have been living in Melbourne for 5 years. I have 10 years of professional experience, and couple my work as a counsellor with part-time work as a languages teacher.

My experience includes working as a TAFE campus counsellor and as a crisis line telephone counsellor for the LGBTQIA+ community. This work, together with my lived experience of being HIV+ and growing up gay, has provided me with a deep understanding of issues facing queer people.

My work as a teacher also means I recognise and understand the challenges young people face in today's increasingly digitally-centred world.
