"Mostly, when I sit with clients, I have no concept of myself as a psychologist or them as clients. We are just two people in a room, collaborating and exploring what is going to strengthen their psyche and restore a sense of wholeness." Rachel is deeply interested in how we heal our lives and relationships and effect change and growth. Rachel tailors her approach to your unique personality and needs.
Rachel helps people who feel stuck or emotionally out of control; suffer from depression, low mood, anxiety or panic attacks; are dealing with loss or grief; are struggling in their marriage or close relationship; have stress related to parenting or the transition to parenthood; feel lost and struggle to make decisions; need help with sexual problems, sexuality or gender issues; suffer with chronic pain, sleeplessness or memory problems; have experienced childhood abuse or sexual assault; suffer with PTSD; struggle with alcohol, drugs, porn or food addiction; have low self esteem or low self-confidence; are experiencing workplace or family conflict; are challenged with work or career issues.
ACT, CBT, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Inner Child, Interpersonal, Marriage and Family, MBTI, Mindfulness, Person Centred, Schema Therapy
Rachel's approach is humanistic and friendly. She gives you a genuinely supportive space where you are cared for, can truly be yourself, and feel better. Together, we will co-create a healing path that is 100% tailored to you and your needs. I don’t believe in “one size fits all” therapy. There will be no textbook psychology here. I won't bombard you with jargon. I believe in your deeper wisdom and in helping you forge your own individual path to happiness and success.
Rachel has been a registered psychologist since 2002. From 2002 to 2012, she consulted with various organisations, working with doctors, nurses, teachers, pilots, lawyers, executives and others, and gained broad experience in coaching individuals and groups. She is skilled at helping people cope with anxiety, depression, stress and trauma, relationship conflict, addictions, and personal change. In 2006, Rachel was awarded her PhD from UQ on the topic of psychological burnout and resilience. She founded North Brisbane Psychologists in 2012 and now leads a team of six practitioners.
