    A conversation with Rachel Hannam

    • Rachel's dream as a teen was to work in performing arts. She studied Art and Theatre in school and enjoyed exploring the characters’ motivations and emotions. Key people in her life discouraged her from pursuing it as a career. She'd read some of her mother’s self-help books in Year 12 and knew Psychology was the only other subject area she could become equally passionate about. She loves her chosen career quite simply because she loves people, and finds them endlessly fascinating.
    • Behaviourism, humanistic / person-centred, Gestalt, Buddhism, Psychodynamic theories and Jungian Psychology.
    • Gottman, Emotion-focussed Couples Therapy,, DBT, ACT, Gestalt, Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT)
    • The stories! Also, the openness, emotional intimacy, and trust in the therapy room is unlike most other situations in life. And you never know what you are going to get each day. I feel very privileged to do this work and help people in this way.
