Philosophy & Vision

Your story and identity is unique. Life at times can be challenging, finding someone that deeply listens and understands you at these points becomes crucial. Through a therapeutic process you and I will explore your fears, hopes, multitude of feelings and emotions. Often things become clearer through this process and you discover a form of healing that is deep and long lasting. I trust that you have the answers within. You decide what we focus on and we go at your pace.
I work with people aged 16 +. I am experienced in working with trauma including domestic and family violence, sexual assault. I have also worked extensively with people facing grief and loss, bereavement, anxiety, depression, chronic pain.

Background

I have worked in corporate sector in senior leadership roles for over 25 years before embarking on a career change which saw me enter into Psychotherapy and counselling.
Counselling and Psychotherapy works with mind, body and spirit. It is deep work which results in paradigm shifts for many and brings healing that is long lasting. I work for a large non-profit organisation currently providing counselling along with private practice.

    As a Clinical member of PACFA, I uphold its standards for ethical working and professional development. I have professional clinical supervision regularly and complete training often. I recently completed in depth training in healing complex trauma and neuroscience with Internal Family Systems institute. This focus on professional development means I provide up to date information on mental health and wellbeing to you.

    Therapy Approach

    I have trained in many different approaches such as Internal Family Systems, Acceptance & Commitment therapy, Cognitive Behavioural therapy, mindfulness, grief and loss, existential. I use these techniques in a way that meets your goals. I don't try to force a particular way of working with you, I prefer to work with your system and see what brings healing.

    Appointments

    I am available from 9-3pm Friday's and Saturday afternoons by appointment

    Fees & Insurance

    I offer a free 15 minute consultation to understand your goals and to see if I could be of help.

    Sessions after that are for 1 hour and I charge $140. I offer private health rebates and do not require a mental health plan from your GP.
