Philosophy & Vision

I believe that therapy is a collaborative and transformative journey. My perspective on therapy is rooted in empathy, respect, and a deep understanding of the human experience. I work with individuals, couples, and families navigating life’s challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts and feelings, develop coping strategies, and rediscover hope.

I am passionate about helping clients from all walks of life, and I tailor my approach to meet each person’s unique needs. Whether you are struggling with overwhelming emotions, seeking to improve your relationships, or looking to heal from past traumas, I am here to support you every step of the way. Together, we can work towards building a healthier and more fulfilling life.

Background

Before starting my private practice, I spent over a decade as a medical and veterinary microbiologist, which honed my analytical skills and attention to detail. However, my passion for helping others led me to work with troubled adolescents, where I discovered the profound impact of compassionate support.
This experience inspired me to pursue a Master of Counselling, focusing on relationship and individual counselling.
Since then, I have dedicated my career to guiding individuals, couples, and families through challenges like anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues. My journey has been deeply rewarding, allowing me to make a meaningful difference in the lives of my clients.

A conversation with Kerry Kostinsky Verlingieri

    • I felt deeply saddened by how many hurting people kept crossing my path. The more I spoke to people the more I found that everyone was hurting, even the people who looked like they had everything figured out and together. It upset me to see so many people struggling to live their day to day lives with the scars and painful wounds that somebody else inflicted on them through no fault of their own. To use a picture, it was as though they had all the potential to become a beautiful lush tree but instead were savagely cut down leaving only a stump, a fragment of the kind of person they were meant to be.

The world is not meant to be this way. People should be free to live their lives without being imprisoned inside of themselves and feeling cheated out of living lives to their full potential.
This is the driving force that led me to choose counselling as a profession.
