I work with people who are navigating life’s difficulties, and who are seeking to create more meaningful relationships by increasing their emotional resilience. I specialise the areas of anxiety and depression, and have advanced training in complex trauma. I've worked extensively with clients from the LGBT+ community, where I've gained experience working with issues related to gender and sexuality.
I offer psychotherapy and counselling services in person at my office in Potts Point, Sydney. Online appointments are also available . I provide a safe and comfortable space that is confidential and free from judgement.
Attachment Theory, Conversational Model, Developmental, Existential, Interpersonal, Jungian, Object Relations, Psychoanalytic, Psychodynamic, Short-term Psychodynamic, Trauma-Informed
My approach draws on evidence-based treatment strategies grounded in psychoanalytic ideas and thinking. Our work together is based on your unique situation, and is essentially tailored to meet your needs, which may be short-term counselling, or in-depth work to understand who you are, and the patterns that might be getting in the way of your fulfillment in life.
My specialist training in the Master of Science in Medicine (Psychotherapy), grounds my approach in psychoanalytic thinking and ideas. More broadly, I've worked for community health organisations such as Lifeline, ACON, the Ankali Project (supporting people living with AIDS/HIV) and Cancer Council NSW. I've also provided pro bono psychodynamic counselling services.
I worked previously as an academic lecturer, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses on creative writing, gender, sexuality and psychoanalytic theory. I've presented papers at local and international conferences, and I've held postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Texas at Austin, the Radcliffe Institute at Harvard, and at the New York Public Library.
Appointments are 50 mins in length.
I offer online sessions, or in person.
There is on-street parking availabile, and the practice is a 3 minute walk from Kings Cross station. The area is also serviced by numerous buses.
Fees are discussed at the initial consultation.
Private health rebates may be available through Medibank, AHM and Bupa. I also provide rebates through the Police and Emergency Health Services Fund.
