Philosophy & Vision
I work with people who are navigating life's difficulties, and who are seeking to create more meaningful relationships by increasing their emotional resilience. I specialise in the areas of anxiety and depression, and have advanced training in complex trauma. I've worked extensively with clients from the LGBT+ community, where I've gained experience working with issues related to gender and sexuality.
Background
My specialist training in the Master of Science in Medicine (Psychotherapy), grounds my approach in psychoanalytic thinking and ideas. More broadly, I've worked for community health organisations such as Lifeline, ACON, the Ankali Project (supporting people living with AIDS/HIV) and Cancer Council NSW. I've also provided pro bono psychodynamic counselling services.
I worked previously as an academic lecturer, teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses on creative writing, gender, sexuality and psychoanalytic theory. I've presented papers at local and international conferences, and I've held postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Texas at Austin, the Radcliffe Institute at Harvard, and at the New York Public Library.
Services
I offer psychotherapy and counselling services in person at my office in Potts Point, Sydney. Online appointments are also available. I provide a safe and comfortable space that is confidential and free from judgement. I welcome people from all walks of life to my practice.
