My approach depends on your unique situation. Through our work together, I aim to facilitate personal growth by helping you to gain insight into your way of being in the world, and how the patterns you repeat may be contributing to your unhappiness.
I have advanced training in the areas of complex trauma, dual diagnosis, personality disorders, anxiety and depression, using the Conversational Model, developed by Russell Meares.
I completed my training in the Master of Science in Medicine (Psychotherapy) program at Westmead hospital, University of Sydney. I received my counselling training through the Jansen Newman Institute, where I completed the MA in Counselling & Applied Psychotherapy. I've worked as an academic lecturer, teaching psychoanalytic theory and creative writing, and have presented papers at local and international conferences and workshops.
Since 2005, I've worked for organisations such as Lifeline, ACON, the Ankali Project, Cancer Council NSW, Wesley Hospital Ashfield and Victims Support Services. I have also provided pro bono counselling services through the Mandala Community Counselling Service, to help assist the local community.
