By choice, I work with a range of clients – both male and female and with ages ranging from early 20’s to late 60’s. Some are highly successful (as success is usually judged) in the external world and come to learn more of themselves or to deal with some painful but not-so-obvious issues in their interpersonal or inner world. Others come struggling to get by in the external world. Or in their inner world. And occasionally someone comes stricken by a particular inner or outer event (accident, spiritual experience, illness, retrenchment, divorce) unsure that they can ever function fully in the world again.

Conscious attention to suffering involves attending to events in the external world (past and present) and to the client’s thoughts and feelings - as far as she/he is aware of them. Attention to the unconscious, often enriched by dream material and non-verbal expression (eg drawing) involves attending to the symbolic level and gaining new insights into the client’s internal dynamics.
The therapeutic journey for each person is unique and requires courage which I greatly respect. My goal is to contain and support that journey in a fully professional yet flexible and individual way.
