As a relationship of trust develops in therapy it helps a person to question the patterns of behaviour that they have been in for most of their lives. Questioning our responses and understanding why we have them can be liberating. Exploring the role models we had as children is part of this process as is understanding what we came to believe about ourselves as a result of our early experiences.

I give my clients useful strategies to use in making changes in their behaviour and beliefs.
I maintain confidentiality at all times. The only exceptions to this rule would be if I was informed by a client of planned criminal activity or if I was told of a child being abused.

I encourage my clients to tell me if they are unhappy with anything in a session and take what they say very seriously. I never assume this is my clients issue but stay open to exploring any unhappiness with them. In fact I celebrate these occasions as demonstrating a great deal of emotional strength in them.

I have broad experience over sixteen years as a therapist. I am trained in personal therapy, relationship counselling and family therapy.

I have specific training in psychodrama, counselling those with dissociative identity disorder and in sandtray work with children.

I have done a great deal of work with those suffering childhood abuse and those suffering form other traumas. I also work with those suffering chronic pain, depression, anxiety, phobias and issues regarding weight.
My initial training was psychodynamic, looking at the question of how our past influences our behaviour in the present. From there I trained in psychodrama which is a great tool for exploring the best way to move forward in the present. It has a solutions focused approach as well as a systemic one. That is, looking at the person in the light of their relationships (work, home, friends, church etc)

I subsequently trained in relationship therapy from both a psychodynamic and systemic perspective.

I see clients three days a week from Monday to Wednesday and take after hours appointments at 5:30pm and 6:45pm on those days. There is a bus to the street I am in. The 436 and 437 come from the city down George street, through Leichhardt and Haberfield.

There is plenty parking in the street.

I charge $120 a session which is approximately an hour. I give a $10 a week discount to those who pay four weeks in advance. Discounts are available to those for whom money is a barrier to coming and is negotiated individually. I accept cheque, business or personal, but do not take credit cards. I give my bank details to those who would like to do a direct electronic transfer.
